Long-term closure of Liberty Street 401 ramps postponed

The Ministry of Transportation – Ontario (MTO) has postponed the long-term closure of Liberty Street east and westbound ramps on Highway 401.

The works was postponed until further notice due to unforeseen delays, said a Clarington statement. “We will issue an update as soon as we have more information,” it added.

No reason was given for the delays.

The Ministry of Transportation – Ontario (MTO) is starting a long-term project rehabilitating several structures along Highway 401 between Bowmanville Avenue and Bennett Road.

As a result, the Liberty Street eastbound and westbound ramps along Highway 401 were to be closed starting on June 27, 2022, for the duration of this work.

Aecon Construction and Materials Limited was to perform this work.
