Durham Police have arrested a 21-year-old male for a carjacking incident and a fail to remain in Oshawa on Tuesday afternoon.
On November 2 at about 12:05 pm, members of Central East Division were dispatched to the area of Simcoe Street South and Olive Avenue for a carjacking. The female victim was attempting to get into her vehicle when she was assaulted and the suspect fled in her white Ford Escape. The suspect was involved in a minor collision on Montrave Street and fled from the scene. The stolen vehicle, which incurred front end damage and was leaking fluids, was located in a parking lot on King Street West. Police arrested the suspect nearby.
Nelson Kingston, age 21, of No Fixed Address is charged with: Robbery; Posses Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000; Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance; Fail to Remain; Leave Accident Scene – Fail to Give Name/Offer Assistance; Fail to Comply and Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence.
He was held for a bail hearing.
