Durham Police said a male has been arrested after he shot at a vehicle in Pickering.
On Monday, September 9, at about 6:35 am, members of West Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Sapphire Drive and Dragonfly Avenue.
A male shot at a parked vehicle before fleeing the area on foot. Police searched the area and located the suspect, who fled from officers. During the foot pursuit, the suspect discarded a handgun into a green space, before being taken into custody. The handgun was located and seized, police said.
No physical injuries were sustained by any parties as a result of the shooting.
This was an isolated incident.
The man, age 25 from Pickering was charged. Police did not say whether the suspect was held for bail or released on an undertaking. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
