Man stabs partner in the calf; arrested and charged

Durham Police said a 42-year-old male is facing charges after a female was stabbed in Whitby on Tuesday.

On November 8 at about 8:20 am, officers responded to the area of Centre Street North and Beech Street West after reports of a stabbing. A female had been stabbed in the calf by her partner. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was later arrested and charged, said a police statement.

A 42-year-old male of Oshawa is charged with:  Assault Cause Bodily Harm; Assault with a Weapon or Imitation Weapon and Assault. He was held for a bail hearing. This is an isolated incident and the name of the suspect is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
