Durham police yesterday said a male is in custody after brandishing a knife and making threats at a restaurant in Pickering.
On Saturday, February 28 at about 2:50 am, members of West Division responded to a fight call at the Moxies Restaurant located at 1815 Liverpool Road. Two males were involved in a physical altercation inside of the restaurant when one of the males brandished a knife and swung it toward the victim. The suspect also made threats toward employees.
Officers arrived on scene and located all parties separated. The suspect was identified and taken into custody without incident. A search of the suspect revealed a knife in his possession.
The victim and employees did not suffer any physical injuries.
The 35 year old male from Toronto was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
