Man tried to lure 14-year old boy on Snapchat

Durham Police said a 21-year-old Clarington male has been charged with luring after engaging online with someone he thought was a child.

This December, a male began communicating online with someone who he believed to be a 14-year-old boy.  Conversation was exchanged and, despite believing the boy was 14-years old, the male made numerous requests for nude photos and to meet for a sexual purpose. Communication was made over Snapchat with the male.

Investigators from the Internet Child Exploitation Unit began an investigation and were able to identify the male and arrested him, said a police statement.

The suspect was held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
