Mary Street closed until Sep 2025, Hwy 401 bridge closed too

The City of Oshawa yesterday announced that the Albert Street bridge is temporarily closed.

“The Albert Street bridge is temporarily closed over Highway 401 between Lviv Blvd. and Bloor Street on Albert Street,” said a city advisory.

It said the clsoure is until further notice to facilitate unexpected utility work.

Mary Street to close until September 2025

Meanwhile, the Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of an upcoming road closure on Mary Street in the City of Oshawa.

It will be closed the week of May 13 to September 2025 from Rossland Road (Regional Road 28) to 150 metres north of Robert Street.

The closure is need to safely replace a watermain, sanitary sewer and services.

Closure on North Street in Clarington

The regional municipality also announced a complete road closure on North Street (Regional Road 17) in Newcastle in the Municipality of Clarington.

The work to safely reconstruct North Street to support new development will begin on May 21 and is expected to be complete by September 30, weather permitting.

There will be a full road closure on North Street, from Grady Drive to 970 metres north of Grady Drive.

The region said it realizes that its works may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and the work crews.
