Meet Jack, the latest officer to join the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS).
Armed with four paws and a canny sense of smell, Jack may not be a lovable golden doodle for criminals, but he will be for those requiring K9 therapy.
And, of course, to his fellow DRPS officers, he is a partner.
Jack is also a crisis response K9.
“Jack is training to be a crisis response K9 who will provide support to first responders (police, fire, EMS) after critical incidents,” said the DRPS Central West Division tweet.
“For many, they’re pets, for us they’re partners,” said a DRPS K9 Unit tweet.
