Montreal man held for attempt to defraud two banks

A 24-year-old male from Montreal is facing numerous fraud-related charges after attempting to defraud two financial institutions.

On January 11, the suspect attended a bank on Westney Road in Ajax and attempted to open an account with fraudulent identification. He later attended another financial institution and attempted to open a banking account using fraudulent identification, said a police statement.

Investigators from West Division Criminal Investigations Bureau executed a search warrant and seized numerous fraudulent documents from the suspect.

He was held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
