Motorcyclist crashes into cement wall at race track

A 39-year-old male was involved in a serious motorcycle collision at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Clarington.

On Saturday, August 14, at approximately 12:27 pm, members of East Division were called to a serious motorcycle collision that occurred on the track, during a professional race, at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The rider lost control of his motorcycle, crashed into hay bales before striking a cement wall.

The 39-year-old male driver of the motorcycle was transported to local hospital by ambulance, and then to a Toronto-area trauma centre, where he remains in critical condition.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit, attended the track to conduct an investigation. Races scheduled for the remainder of the day were postponed.
