All-way stops in Clarington and Brock, road closed in Oshawa

The Regional Municipality of Durham has recently implemented two new all-way stop intersections in the Municipality of Clarington and the Township of Brock.

In Clarington, the new all-way stop is located at the intersection of Regional Highway 2 and Newtonville Road (Regional Road 18). It was scheduled to be installed on November 14, weather permitting.

A new all-way stop in Brock is located in Gamebridge at the intersection of Regional Road 50 and Regional Road 51.

By requiring all drivers to stop and yield the right-of-way, these new all-way stops aim to reduce the risk of collisions and improve safety for all road users, including pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists, the region said.

Road closure in Oshawa

The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of a road closure on Columbus Road East (Regional Road 3) in the City of Oshawa from November 13 to the first week of December 2024.

The road reconstruction will continue after the winter shutdown period, resuming in May 2025.

The impacted area is on Columbus Road East, from Grandview Street North to 80 metres west of Grandview Street North.

This closure is part of the reconstruction of Columbus Road East.

Lane restrictions on Simcoe Street North

The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Simcoe Street North (Regional Road 2) in the City of Oshawa on November 19.

It will be from Parkwood Court to Hospital Court, to safely decommission a water service in support of new development.
