One home invasion suspect in custody, one still at large

One male is in custody and police are looking for a second suspect after a break-and-enter at a residence in Whitby.

On Thursday, November 6 at about 7:35 pm, members of Central East Division responded to a break-and-enter call at a residence in the area of Thickson Road and Carnwith Drive East in Whitby.

The homeowners returned to their residence and located two masked men at the back door. Both suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.

A1 and K9 unit assistance proved vital in apprehending one of the suspects, a 24-year old man from Chile. Suspect is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.

Police are still searching for the second suspect. He is described as male, wearing a baseball hat, dark jacket and dark pants.
