Oshawa drug trafficker arrested with loaded handgun

A 28-year-old male has been arrested as the result a drug and firearm investigation in Oshawa, according to police.

On Saturday, March 15, members of the DRPS Gun and Gang Enforcement Unit said they concluded a drug trafficking and firearm investigation. The suspect was under investigation for drug trafficking and believed to be in possession of illegal firearms.

At about 12:30 am the suspect was stopped by police in his vehicle in the area of Clements Road West and Harwood Avenue South in Ajax. The suspect was arrested and Criminal Code/Controlled Drugs and Substances search warrants were executed on the vehicle and a residence in the area of Marland Avenue and Montrave Avenue, said police.

Police reported that they seized a loaded handgun with an overcapacity magazine and a quantity of drugs, including over 360 grams of cocaine and 110 grams of MDMA.

 A 28-year-old male from Oshawa was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
