Oshawa finally resolves legal dispute with airport tenant

The City of Oshawa has notified that it has agreed with Canadian Flight Academy Ltd. (CFA) to a mutual resolution of their ongoing litigation.

The city said CFA has agreed to cease all in-air flight training activities at the Oshawa Executive Airport by December 31, 2025.

CFA has also agreed to depart the airport by March 31, 2026, said a city statement.

It said the CFA has agreed to restrict its in-air flight training departures at the airport to:

  1. After 8 am on all days; and
  2. Before 9 pm on weekends and the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, the August Civic Holiday, Labour Day, National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.

The terms of the resolution are confidential and privileged, and neither party is at liberty to comment any further on the resolution, the statement said.

The city did not carry any statement from CFA.
