The Town of Whitby has alert residents and visitors about a text message scam which is asking for payment of parking tickets.
“It has come to the town’s attention that residents have received suspicious text messages asking for the payment of outstanding parking tickets,” it in an alert on the town’s web page.
“The Town of Whitby does not send text messages about parking violations or tickets. If you receive such messages, do not click on any links or provide personal information,” the town advised.
