Oshawa reopens revitalized Greenbriar Park

The City of Oshawa has officially reopened Greenbriar Park following a revitalization project aimed at improving accessibility and enhancing recreational spaces for the local community.

To mark the occasion, residents gathered to celebrate the upgraded park, with children taking part in playground programming during the reopening event.

Greenbriar Park is located near the ravine off Greenbriar Drive in Ward 3. The upgrades include several accessibility improvements and new play features:

  • Accessible pathways equipped with guardrails, handrails, and rest areas
  • A.O.D.A.-compliant surfacing, swings, and access ramps
  • New junior and senior playground equipment for children aged 2 to 12
  • Updated playground safety surfacing with concrete edging
  • Benches, waste receptacles, and other site furnishings
  • Native plantings to support and enhance the nearby ravine ecosystem

The City of Oshawa noted that the park redevelopment was informed by community engagement and feedback throughout the planning process.
