Whitby home shot at early morning while residents were inside

Durham Regional Police are investigating after shots were fired at a residence in Whitby early Monday morning.

According to police, officers from the Central West Criminal Investigations Branch were called to the area of Maria Street and Annes Street on July 21, at around 7:10 am after a homeowner discovered bullet holes in their front door. Several shell casings were found at the scene.

Residents were inside the home at the time of the incident, but no injuries were reported.

Police are asking anyone with information or video footage—including dashcam or home surveillance—from the area between Gilbert Street West and Newman Crescent, from Annes Street to Frances Street, between midnight and 7:00 am, to come forward.
