Durham Regional Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday in central Oshawa.
It left two men with non-life-threatening injuries and resulted in one person being taken into custody.
Officers said that they were called to the area of John Street West and Simcoe Street South, where the initial shooting incident took place. Police say one man was transported from the scene to a Toronto-area hospital for treatment. Shortly after, a second male victim arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Both individuals are expected to recover.
According to investigators, one male suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident. Police have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to community safety.
The investigation remains active, and further details will be released as they become available, said police.
