Parking lot victim serious, stabber released on undertaking

Durham Police said a male suffered serious injuries after being stabbed during an altercation in Ajax.

On Tuesday, September 24, at about 6:05 pm, members of West Division responded to a stabbing call in the area of Taunton Road West and Westney Road North.

The victim was approached by three males in a parking lot. A physical altercation occurred resulting in the victim being stabbed. The victim was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre in serious but non-life-threatening condition. All suspects fled the area prior to police arrival.

Further investigation identified the suspect responsible for the stabbing. At about 10:35 pm, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

This was an isolated incident and there are no concerns for public safety.

A male, age 25 from Oshawa was charged and released on an undertaking. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
