Parolee with 19 charges arrested after Petro Canada robbery

Durham police yesterday said a man has been arrested after a commercial robbery at a gas station in Ajax.

On Thursday, March 5, at about 7 am, members of West Division responded to a robbery call at the Petro Canada located at 225 Salem Road South.

A man entered the gas station and made threats toward an employee while going behind the counter and stealing products. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.

No employees suffered any physical injuries, police said.

Officers located the suspect a short distance away and he was taken into custody. Investigators were able to link him to multiple theft incidents.

At the time of his arrest, the suspect was in violation of several probation orders for similar offenses, resulting in 19 fail to comply with probation order charges.
