Part of Thickson Road in Whitby closed this coming weekend

The Region of Durham is advising residents of an upcoming closure at the intersection of Thickson Road and Wentworth Street in Whitby.

The closure is  needed to safely complete surface asphalt paving.

It will be from Saturday May 30 at about 7 pm to Sunday May 31 at around 7 am. To minimize traffic disruption, the work will be carried out overnight. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule, the region said.

The closure will be from the intersection of Thickson Road and Wentworth Street in Whitby. Traffic will be detoured onto Tricont Avenue and Forbes Street.

The region said it realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete it as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
