Pedestrian in critical condition after being struck in Oshawa

A 64-year-old male pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Oshawa.

On Wednesday, December 31, at around 11:15 pm, members of Central East Division responded to a collision in the area of Simcoe Street North and Byng Avenue.

A 64-year-old male was in the roadway on Simcoe Street North when he was struck by a southbound Ford hatchback. The 28-year-old male driver remained on scene and cooperated with police.

The pedestrian was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre where he remains in critical condition, police said.

Members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation into the circumstances of the incident. The roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
