Perp flees but Flex’s command stops him in his tracks

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) K9 Unit were at the fore again, helping nab a fleeing suspect.

Thanks to the quick actions of DRPS K9 and officers from DRPS Central West Division, one suspect was arrested following a Break & Enter.

“Great work D/Cst. Handscomb and PSD Flex,” said a police tweet.

The K9 Unit explained that PC Handscomb, K9 Flex and DRPS CW Division officers responded to a Break & Enter in Progress.

While in the area, PC Handscomb observed the perp fleeing the area. He exited his vehicle with K9 Flex and instructed the perp to stop.

With Flex barking, the suspect wisely complied. He was taken into custody.
