Pickering user fees, Oshawa budget open to public

Community consultation on the City of Pickering’s draft 2023 User Fees is now open, according to a city statement.

The first phase is reviewing and providing feedback into the draft 2023 User Fee Schedule, which will be considered for approval at the January 23, 2023 council meeting, it said.

Many city services enjoyed by the community are funded by property taxes. There are, however, some services that provide direct benefit to an individual, group, or business, rather than the community as a whole, and as such, the city charges a user fee directly to the individual or organization benefiting from the service. This means the individual/organization enjoying the service, pays for the service.
