This is where police can always find someone speeding

DRPS Traffic Services has named a road in Durham where they say they can always find someone speeding.

This driver (top image) was doing 113kmh in a 80-zone at Winchester Road and Country Line in the Town of Whitby.

“Not sure what the deal is with this stretch of road, but if you want to find someone speeding…,” said the police.

Meanwhile, Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) East Division reported officers conducted a RIDE initiative in Clarington last night.

At the time of reporting, they had two alerts for impaired driving which means an automatic three-day licence suspension for the first offence, seven-day for the second offence and 30-day for the third offence.

“Don’t drink and drive!” they said.

The DRPS Traffic Services team was joined by the ‘big bosses’ last night for a RIDE line on Baldwin near the 407.

Several roadside tests were taken and all were within tolerance. That said, it is always best to drive completely sober. Every drink slows reaction time and judgement, said the police.

Chief Rollauer joining the RIDE line. Fighting impaired driving is a collective effort and involves everyone in the community. Drive sober.
