Police asking for help in identifying sexual assault suspect

Durham Police investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying an unknown male in a sexual assault investigation in Oshawa.

On Friday, June 7 at about 2:30 pm, the complainant was shopping at the Oshawa Centre at King Street West when she was approached by an unknown male who mumbled something and then touched her inappropriately, said a police report.

The suspect is described as male, White, 40-45 years old, 5’9 – 5’11” tall, with a medium build, long brown hair and a long brown/grey beard that is short on his face and much longer on his chin. He was wearing a blue tie-dye bucket hat and blue t-shirt.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Det. Connolly of the Special Victims Unit at 905-579-1520 ext. 5318.
