Police seek suspect who entered home kennel and shot dog

Durham police are searching for at least one suspect after a dog was located deceased from a gunshot in Claremont in Pickering.

Between 7:30 pm on Thursday, November 13, and 8:30 am on Friday, November 14, 2025, at least one suspect entered a kennel located on a residential property in the area of Sideline 20 and 8th Concession Road in Claremont and used a firearm to harm a dog. The dog was later located deceased by its owner after succumbing to its injuries.

Anyone who was in this area between 7:30 pm on Thursday, November 13, 2025, and 8:30 am on Friday, November 14, 2025, that has any cellphone, dash cam, surveillance footage, or any information about this incident is asked to contact D/Cst.
