Police looking for any more child luring, pornography victims

Durham Police yesterday said a male has been arrested after an investigation into child pornography and the luring of a young female.

On June 2, members of the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit received information about a male possibly involved in child pornography and child luring.

The suspect had sexually explicit conversations and sent explicit photos to what he believed to be a 12-year-old female using the social media platform ‘Meet24’ with the user name ‘Robert’. The suspect attempted to arrange a meeting with the female so they could engage in sexual acts, said police.

On Wednesday, July 10, following an investigation by the ICE Unit, the suspect was arrested at his residence in Oshawa.

The man, age 60 from Oshawa was charged and held for a bail hearing.

Police have concerns there may be more victims. An image of the accused can be viewed at www.drps.ca.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact D/Cst. Tyrell of the Internet Child Exploitation Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 3872.
