Police looking for suspect who gun-butted victim on the head

Durham Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a male wanted on firearm charges.

On Tuesday, February 4 at about 5:55 pm, members from Central West Division said they responded to a residential address in the area of Garden Street and Jerseyville Way in Whitby after receiving a report about an armed person. Officers arrived on scene and learned an altercation took place inside the home and a male was struck in the head with a firearm.  The victim was transported to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police report that the suspect fled the scene before they arrived, and despite multiple efforts, investigators have been unable to locate him.

A 28-year-old male of Oshawa is wanted for multiple offences. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.

Police warn that if anyone knows the whereabouts of the suspect, they should call the police immediately, and to not approach the suspect.
