Police probe medical cause after driver dies in crashed car

A 30-year-old male resident of Whitby has died as a result of a collision involving a single motor vehicle in Ajax.

On Tuesday, July 26 at around 10:15 pm, members from West Division responded to a fatal single-vehicle collision involving a grey Honda in a plaza parking lot in the area of Salem Road and Rossland Road. It’s believed that the driver suffered a medical episode before losing control of the vehicle. The Honda struck a commercial storefront. The lone driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, said a police statement.

The investigation is ongoing and members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to assist with this investigation.

A post-mortem will be conducted to determine if this collision was caused by a medical episode.
