Police suspend chase over robbers’ dangerous driving

Durham Police investigators are looking for three suspects after an armed robbery at a cellphone store in Whitby.

On Thursday, September 1 at around 4 pm, members of Central West Division were called to Freedom Mobile located at the Kendalwood Plaza for an armed robbery. Two suspects entered the store armed with guns and made a demand for cellphones. The suspects stole a customer’s phone and fled to an awaiting silver Hyundai, said a police statement.

The victims did not receive any physical injuries. Officers searched the area and located the suspects in the vehicle nearby. Police discontinued pursuing due to the dangerous nature of the suspects driving.

The suspects are described as both male, Black, wearing all dark clothing.
