Road closure, lane restrictions in Oshawa, Whitby, Scugog

Town of Whitby has announced a closure of Coronation Road from Taunton Road to about 500 metres north of the intersection from September 6 until the end of October.

Thank you for your patience as we work to improve our roads and service new areas of our community, said a town tweet.

Meantime, the Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of upcoming lane restrictions in the City of Oshawa and the Township of Scugog.

It announced lane restrictions on Simcoe Street (Regional Road 2) in the Township of Scugog.

When: September 6 to October 21. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Where: Simcoe Street, from north of Greenway Boulevard to south of Beech Street, in the Township of Scugog.
Why: For road resurfacing.

Thornton Road North in Oshawa:  The Regional Municipality of Durham also advised residents of lane restriction on Thornton Road North in the City of Oshawa.

When: September 12 to September 26 .
Where: Thornton Road North from Tatra Drive to Genoa Avenue in the City of Oshawa.
Why: Lane restrictions will be in place to allow for the safe installation of sanitary and water services to support new development.

Oshawa Road Closure: Meanwhile, the City of Oshawa announced that Thoroughbred Street will be closed to through traffic.

There will be no through access for emergency vehicles. Local traffic only will be allowed. Temporary conditions signs will be posted in accordance with provincial standards.

When: From September 8, 2022 until September 20,
Where: between Windfields Farm Dr W and Dance Act Avenue
Why: Connection of sanitary sewer main and watermain
