Stuck sailor, stunt driver, loud cars, drunk disturbance…

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) last evening tweeted that officers from its North Division were heading to a boater in distress in Seagrave, Ontario.

It said a dinghy was reported to be stuck in weeds, and the boater couldn’t make it back to shore.

“They have lifejackets and waiting for a tow,” said the tweet.

No further details were released last night.

Meanwhile, DRPS Traffic Services yesterday joined Peel Police, York Region Police, Ontario Transport, Barrie Police and Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), said on Project Erase street racing enforcement initiative.

Tweetalong is about to start up shortly. We are just monitoring calls before heading out, said the police.

Stunt Driver: DRPS started the night for the Erase team with this a stunt driver (image on top) going 129kmh in a posted 60kmh zone.

The driver got a 30-day driving licence suspension a 14-day vehicle impound.

Impaired: Another tweet said: “We are now looking for a possible impaired driver. Black F-150 on Prestonvale Road. We are checking area but no luck yet”.

Disturbance: Officers reported from Oshawa area that they were busy on calls but nothing too serious at this time. We have been called now to a disturbance near Capilano Cr. in Oshawa.

“Arrived at the disturbance call and it appears an intoxicated male was banging on the complainant’s door. Male is unknown to them. He smashed some property and fled. We are looking for a male in the area on foot”.
