Racing with buddy 53kmh-over will get you both walking

DRPS Traffic Services yesterday warned drivers against racing on Durham roads and streets.

It said officers found a motorist racing a buddy at 53kmh over the speed limit in Clarington.

This will get you both charged/towed/impounded. “At least you have 30 days of walking together to think about slowing down,” said a tweet.

DRPS Traffic Services said some of its traffic team is out on Project ERASE street racing enforcement initiative with Peel Police, York Region Police, Ontario Transport, Barrie Police and Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)

OPP said most people know that stunt racing laws apply on the highway – but did you know those same laws apply to certain off-road locations as well?

“As of September 2021, the laws apply to parking lots, bike paths, and trails. Please be safe,” said a OPP tweet.
