Durham Police’s Air1 assisted in locating a stolen vehicle from Whitby. Two 15-year-old males now face charges.
On Wednesday, September 14 at about 11:35 pm, members of Central West Division responded to a carjacking at Centre Street North and Rossland Road West in Whitby. The victim was confronted by two males, who assaulted him and drove off in his black Kia Forte.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, said a police statement.
Air1 located the stolen vehicle travelling on Highway 401 and followed the vehicle to Kingston Road and Port Union. Both occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers responded quickly and arrested the two suspects.
The two 15-year-old males of Toronto are charged with: Robbery and Possess Property Obtained by Crime Exceeding $5,000.
They were held for bail hearings.
