Durham Police have concluded an investigation that left a driver with serious injuries. A 24-year-old driver is now facing charges.
On July 20, at about 6:55 pm, members from North Division responded to a collision involving a pick-up truck and a motorcycle at the intersection of Regional Road 57 and Nestleton Road in the Township of Scugog. The motorcycle struck the rear right corner of the Chevrolet pickup, ejecting the 65-year-old male from the motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle was transported to a Toronto area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries, police said (see below).
It appears that the driver of the pick-up truck, age 24 from Oshawa, has been charged and was issued a provincial summons for these charges. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
Anyone with cell phone, dash cam, surveillance footage or information about this incident is asked to contact Sgt. Ashfield of the Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5262.
