Register now for curbside collection of storm debris

Clarington is asking residents to register by filling out the Brush Collection Request Form or by calling 905-263-2291 to ensure that crews have their address for curbside pickup of storm debris, including fallen trees, branches, and brush.

Works crews and our contractor will start curbside collection on Wednesday, June 8, in Newcastle and make their way across Clarington, said a Municipal statement. “To maximize our capacity to cover a large geographic area, we will only collect debris from addresses registered for this one-time pickup service as we continue to clean up after the large storm on May 21. Residents must register by June 10 to ensure that all debris is picked up.”

To ensure that work is done efficiently, Clarington is asking residents to follow the steps listed below:

  • Place fallen trees, branches and brush on your boulevard near the roadside. Do not let it block or overhang the curb and the sidewalk or impact vehicle sightlines.
  • Cut branches and trees into manageable pieces, maximum of four feet long.
  • Do not place any storm debris on the road.
  • Only set out natural storm debris. No root balls or stumps. No garbage or construction waste.

To dispose of other storm debris and garbage, see Durham Region’s Waste Management Facilities web page for operating hours.

Residents can choose to discard their own storm debris by bringing it to the Darlington Sports Centre (2276 Taunton Road, Hampton) until June 10, 2022.
