Residents help identify barroom stabbing suspects

Durham Police investigators have identified and arrested two people responsible for a stabbing that injured three victims.

The Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) thanked members of the public for their assistance in identifying the two parties involved in this matter, and allowing this incident to come to a quick conclusion, according to a police statement.

On Saturday, June 10 at about 00:20 am, members from Central West Division attended the Tap and Tankard bar located at 224 Brock Street South in Whitby. Officers arrived on scene and located three people suffering from stab wounds. Two victims were transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre in stable condition, the third is recovering from minor injuries.

One suspect aged 21 of Clarington was charged and held for a bail hearing. Another 22-year old of Clarington was charged and released on an undertaking.

The victims involved have all been released from hospital and the DRPS wished them a full recovery.
