Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) yesterday said it has seen almost 20,000 crashes which have claimed 75 lives so far this year.
“Almost 20,000 crashes investigated by the OPP this year. Over 1,700 personal injury collisions, and 65 fatal crashes that claimed 75 lives,” said a statement by OPP Highway Safety Division.
“We may see hundreds of minor collisions during winter storms but now with summer driving conditions, some drivers lose their focus and attention, please stay alert,” it warned.
“Share the road responsibly with others, let’s all get to our destinations safely,” the OPP added.
