Rogers installing 200km of fibre cables in Clarington

Rogers Communications has launched a broadband expansion project to improve Internet connectivity across Clarington.

Rogers will install 200 kilometres of new fibre along 171 kilometres of municipal roads in Clarington. Construction is expected to take approximately one year to complete and will take place in the following communities:

  • Kendal
  • Orono
  • Kirby
  • Leskard
  • Tyrone
  • Mitchell’s Corners
  • Hampton
  • Solina
  • Newtonville
  • Maple Grove

The project, which was started in May, is part of the Government of Ontario’s Accelerated High-Speed Internet Program. Through this initiative, the province has committed nearly $4 billion to bring high-speed internet to unserved and underserved communities by the end of 2025.

Rogers is implementing the project as a recipient of this funding, said a Clarington statement.

Residents will be notified about construction through door-to-door outreach and on-site signage. For questions or concerns, residents can contact the Rogers contractor directly at 905-240-9572 or customercare@apexfibre.ca.
