A 43-year-old woman has been arrested after two people were assaulted at a store in Oshawa, according to Durham police.
Officers from Central East Division responded to the incident on Monday, July 7, at about 4:30 pm at a store near Laval Drive and Stevenson Road South. Police say the suspect assaulted one victim inside the store, who was able to get away.
When officers arrived, the suspect reportedly assaulted a second victim. During the arrest, the woman also attempted to take an officer’s firearm but was quickly restrained and taken into custody.
Police confirmed that none of the individuals involved were known to each other. Both victims sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
A 43-year-old woman, of Oshawa, was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
