School Lockdown: ‘Distraught’ student apprehended

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS)  yesterday announced a lockdown at G.L. Roberts Collegiate and Vocational Institute (GL Roberts CVI) in Oshawa after a distraught student was reported with a knife.

Officers from DRPS Central East Division are on scene at GL Roberts CVI on Chaleur Ave in Oshawa for report of a student with a knife, said a police tweet.

There is a lockdown in place. There are no reported injuries and officers have apprehended a distraught student. There are no safety concerns at this time, it added.

No further details were released till late last night.
