Separate stabbing and shooting on same day in Oshawa

On Sunday, in two separate instances, a stabbing and a shooting took place in Oshawa. In both instances, the perpetrator is still at large, according to DRPS.

On Sunday, June 14, around 3 pm, members of Central East Division responded to a shooting in the area of Ritson Road North and Pentland Street.

Officers arrived on scene and located a male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a local area hospital in serious but non-life-threatening condition and has since been upgraded to stable, police said.

Simcoe and John Stabbing

Later on in the day, around 10:30 pm, members of Central East Division responded to a fight call in the area of Simcoe Street and John Street.

Police received information that a large group of people were involved in a physical altercation at a parking lot. Officers arrived on scene and located one male suffering from minor injuries and one male suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The victim suffering from minor injuries was transported to a local-area hospital.

The stabbing victim was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre in serious but non-life-threatening condition, where he has since been upgraded to stable condition.
