Several road closures in effect across Durham

Road closures have been announced across several areas by the Regional Municipality of Durham to carry out maintenance and repairs before winter snows come.

Harmony Road South in Oshawa

There is a road closure on Harmony Road South (Regional Road 33) in the City of Oshawa today (November 15).

  • Where: Harmony Road South, from Olive Avenue (Regional Road 59) to Florell Drive, in Oshawa.
  • Why: To install a watermain to support new development.

Marksbury Road in Pickering

Marksbury Road in Pickering has been temporarily closed for driveway relocation until December 18, 2020.

Access to 501 Marksbury Road will be temporarily closed in order to re-locate the existing driveway away from the top of existing bluff adjacent to Lake Ontario. This closure will allow the reconstruction of the driveway to a sufficient distance away from the bluff in order to continue to provide winter maintenance services on TRCA lands.

Nonquon River Bridge in Scugog

The Regional Municipality of Durham announced that the Nonquon River Bridge in the Township of Scugog will be temporarily closed to traffic for repairs.

  • When: November 16 for approximately four weeks.
  • Where: The Nonquon River Bridge, which connects Reach Street (Regional Road 8) over the Nonquon River just west of Highway 12, in Scugog.
  • Why: To safely complete the bridge repairs. Traffic will be detoured via posted signs.

Beaver River Bridge in Beaverton

The Beaver River Bridge in Beaverton temporarily closed to traffic for repairs.

  • When: Starting November 9 for approximately two to three months.
  • Where: The Beaver River Bridge, which connects Simcoe Street (Regional Road 15) over the Beaver River, located in the community of Beaverton in the Township of Brock. A map of the area is posted on durham.ca/BeaverRiverBridge.
  • Why: To safely complete necessary repairs on the bridge. Detour route signs will be posted.
