Sight of weed leads to $18,000 worth of fentanyl at traffic stop

Two males are facing drug charges after a traffic stop in Oshawa.

On Sunday, February 23, at about 8:20 pm, officers from Central East Division said they conducted a traffic stop while on routine patrol in the area of Ritson Road South and Dean Avenue. During the traffic stop officers could see cannabis and searched the vehicle. During the search, they discovered a significant quantity of fentanyl. Two males were arrested without incident.

The seizure would have a street value of more than $18,000, reported police.

A 19-year-old male from Ajax, was charged and an 18-year-old male from Oshawa is facing provincial charges along with a criminal charge. Both were released on an undertaking. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.
