Slippery Roads Alert: Snow from Friday through Saturday

Snowfall is expected to begin Friday morning and continue Friday night before moving out of the region Saturday morning according to Environment Canada.

It forecast total snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm with reduced visibility in heavy snow at times.

Snow will be mixed with rain at times Friday afternoon and evening.

Falling temperatures Friday night may lead to icy roads and sidewalks, the agency said.

The heaviest snow is expected to be over higher elevations such as the Oak Ridges Moraine.

Roads and walkways may be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Please expect slippery roads and sidewalks.

Remember to take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow.
