Spring Update: New rush hour GO train from Whitby added

Metrolinx, the operator of GO Transit, has announced a series of service enhancements for the spring season – including a new morning rush hour train – aimed at offering passengers increased options and improved schedule flexibility.

  • New Morning Trip: A rush hour train has been added to the Lakeshore East line. Departing from Whitby GO at 7:35 am, it stops at all stations, arriving at Union Station by 8:34 am.
  • Timetable Adjustments: Some Lakeshore East departures are modified to better reflect real travel times, shifting up to three minutes earlier or later.

GO Bus Expansions:

  • Toronto Zoo Weekends: GO Explore bus service now includes stops at the Toronto Zoo on weekends from April 5 to August 24, via Route 96 (Oshawa-Finch).
  • Route Changes: Adjustments on Route 94 (Pickering/Mississauga) align it with Route 41(Hamilton/Pickering), serving key stops in Pickering.
  • Reduced Frequency: Off-peak reductions for Routes 88 (Oshawa-Peterborough), 90 (Oshawa-Union), and 96 (Oshawa-Finch) optimize service times.

Metrolinx encourages passengers to review the updated schedules before beginning their trips.
