Storm system projected to bring 30mm rain to Durham

In a weather alert issued at 10:04 pm yesterday, Environment Canada has warned of significant rainfall possible for Tuesday.

It said rainfall amounts from today afternoon to evening could be between 20 to 30 mm, and could lead to ponding of water on roads. That could impact driving conditions.

“Precipitation associated with a storm system is expected to move into portions of southern Ontario on Tuesday. Precipitation is expected to begin as snow before changing to rain in the afternoon or early evening.

“For areas near Lake Ontario, if the snow changes to rain earlier, rainfall amounts greater than 30 mm may be possible. Rainfall warnings may be issued as the event draws nearer,” said the alert..
