Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday reported the case of an unlucky impaired driver, whose licence was suspended on Friday. The story did not end there as a few hours later, the same driver was found to be driving another vehicle.
DRPS received a call at about 9:40 am on Friday about an impaired driver in Oshawa. Reporting to the scene, the officers observed the car hitting the curb. The 37-year old man from Oshawa was arrested for impaired driving. His vehicle was impounded for seven days and his licence suspended for 90 days. He was released on an appearance notice, police said.
Several hours later, officers were called to Simcoe Street North and Beatrice Street East. They found the same man driving a different vehicle. However, he was not found to be impaired on this occasion. The second vehicle was also impounded for seven days and the driver was charged with driving while under suspension.
