Suspended driver found with loaded firearm

A 23-year-old male faces numerous charges after police seized a firearm during a traffic stop in Oshawa Friday afternoon.

On May 27, a member of Central East Division conducted a traffic stop in the area of Ritson Road and Toronto Avenue. Investigation revealed that the occupant of a white BMW was driving while under suspension and he was removed from the vehicle. The officer continued the investigation and located a loaded a firearm, said a police statement.

The suspect was held for a bail hearing. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.
